    Penny M. Rohrer Graham, of Warsaw, recently graduated with an associate's degree in nursing from Bethel College, South Bend.

Graham has accepted a position with Miller's Merry Manor as staff nurse.

July 29 1981

    The ice cream will be the same, but the owners are different at the popular Flagpole Drive-In on East Winona Avenue.

On July 15, Ted Franchino, (former administrator at Lakeland Christian Academy), and his son-in-law, Dennis Reeve, took over operation of the drive-in from Chris Reed, son-in-law of the late Joe Johnson, founder of the business some 20 years ago.

July 29 1956

    Norman Lee Hagg, son of Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Hagg, Warsaw, has left for Chicago where he is enrolled in the Midwestern Broadcasting school. Hagg is a 1955 graduate of Leesburg High School and was employed by the Pneumatic Products Co. of Warsaw.


75 Years Ago

July 29 1931

    Twelve thousand baby blue gills, 1-inch long fingerlings, were put into the waters of Center, Pike, Winona, Hoffman and Crystal lakes, by employees of the state fish hatcheries from Lake Wawasee. Center Lake received 3,000; Pike, 3,000; Winona, 5,000; Hoffman, 2,000; and Crystal, 2,000. This is the second time these lakes have been restocked this season.
