Adam Jeffers, a junior at Warsaw Community High School, has been selected to the youth council of the Indiana Youth Institute as a representative of Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Kosciusko County.
The newly-formed council will meet regularly to plan a youth conference and coordinate activities of a local youth network. Adams is one of 150 young adults invited to attend a four-day conference at Bradford Woods, Martinsville.

Stella Heckaman and Suzie Hully tied with Ellie Caudill and Jo Waltz for top spot in the 18 hole group.

Dale Swanson, a native of Atwood, has been named superintendent of the city schools at Noblesville. His appointment was announced by the Noblesville school board.
Swanson is a brother of Doyle Swanson, present principal at Atwood High School. He replaces Earl Hinshaw, who retired.

The Dederick Shoe Co., owned and operated by Clint W. Dederick, Warsaw, for several years, changed hands when the store was purchased by D.A. Peterson, of the Peterson Lumber Co., and Almon Gerard.
The store will continue at the old stand on E. Center Street under the management of Gerard, an experienced shoe salesman for a number of years employed in the shoe department of the E.W. Gresso Co., and formerly with the B.F. Richardson Shoe Co. here.
