Richard Restaurant ran a Coca-Cola giveaway throughout the month of June at all of its 20 stores. The giveaway ranged from prizes such as hats, pictures and a 1965 red Mustang. Brian H. Chris, manager of the local Richards, stood with Brian Lackey, Warsaw, who was the winner of the car. Lackey just got out of the Marine Corp. and only put one ticket in the drawing.
Members of the Claypool Lions Club and citizens of the town want it known that Claypool is the home of Indiana's Miss Basketball, Judi Warren, "spark plug" of the Warsaw Community High School girls basketball team, the first girls team to win a state championship. Jerry Johnson and Don Morris, Lions members, erected the large signs honoring Judi. The informational signs will be placed at the east and west town limits, and on the north and south side of the bridge on State Road 15.
Mrs. Solon Boles will represent the Warsaw Delta Theta Tau at the national convention of the sorority to be held July 25-28 at the Netherland Plaza Hotel at Cincinnati, Ohio. Announcement of her appointment was made at the meeting of the chapter held at the home of Mrs. Ed Pratt, of Winona Lake, on Wednesday evening.
Quite a contrast exists between the weather in Warsaw Saturday and that of 15 years ago July 24 when a snowfall lasting for two minutes was reported by enough residents of the county to be believed authentic beyond a doubt.
