    Anne Louise Groniger, Rt. 3, Pierceton, was awarded a $500 scholarship from the Indiana Sheriff's Association. Kosciusko County Sheriff Ron Robinson presented the certification. Groniger is planning to attend Indiana University in Bloomington to major in criminal justice.

July 26 1975

    Robert E. Meade, 70, Rt. 6, Warsaw, retired after 15 years service at the Warsaw Post Office. Meade received a plaque from Gene Swank, Warsaw postmaster. Meade was also presented a wrist watch by his fellow employees. He and his wife, Josephine, will be moving to Florida to make their retirement home.

July 26 1950

    Russel Breading, a member of Boy Scout Troop 36, sponsored by the Evangelical United Brethren Church, is now an Eagle Scout. He was presented the Eagle Award, the highest given in scouting, at the evening council fire held following the parents' night picnic, which climaxed the six days spent at Pioneer Trails Scout camp, south of Cromwell. Russell is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Breading, of West Fort Wayne Street, and is employed by the Times-Union. In the 15 years Troop 36 has been organized, one other member, John Hand, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Hand, of this city, has received the award.

    Newton Howe, of Winona Lake, will go to Chicago this week to personally watch the manufacture and marketing of his invention, an electric oil gauge, which attaches to the dash of an auto and by an electric lamp signal flashes the condition of the oil in the engine.
