    The Sox were crowned champions of the Warsaw Parks And Recreation T-Ball League recently. The Sox finished 3-1. Team members are Aric Hartzler, Ryan Wroughton, Todd Dermondy, John Spyhalski, Jason McClintick, Raeann Wallen, T.J. Detrick, B.J. Woodward and Phillip Robinson.

July 26 1954

    For the second consecutive year, Warsaw's Soap Box Derby champion is a Mentone boy.

Dan Davis, 13-year-old son of Mrs. Ina F. Davis, Mentone, flashed across the finish line five yards ahead of another Mentone boy, Larry Hatfield, to win the championship race and thus qualify for the All-American Soap Box Derby at Akron, Ohio.

75 Years Ago

July 26 1929

    Warsaw today was in the grip of one of the worst heat waves of the year. Vegetation is drying up and lake water is becoming warm so that the fish are going down into deeper water in the lakes.

Thermometers in the business district registered more than 100 in the shade, early this afternoon.
