Warsaw's Jean Northenor, who's on a state task force overseeing the transition from a politically-controlled license branch system, Friday visited a branch in Tell City, one of 50 branches that have volunteered to make the change before the 1988 deadline.
Renee Barney, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Barney, of Warsaw, was one of the youthful fund raisers in the recent KCH drive for new hospital construction funds. Renee and her friends, Amy Dalton and Kim Nikolaev, sold pot holders and other odds and ends door-to-door in raising $19.89 for the hospital.
John Ferris, former Pickwick manager, has finished leveling off his land on Ind. 13 and the lake on the south side of Wawasee. Reportedly he contemplates building a wetland recreation center and from 10 to a dozen deluxe houses.
A derailed Winona interurban freight car which jumped the tracks at the curve just entering Milford this morning about 8 a.m., ran wild across the brick pavement, crashed through the cement curbing, crossed the front lawn park and came to a stop just before hitting the sidewalk without damage to the car or the merchandise in it.
