    The 1988 Miss Kosciusko County Fair Queen is Jennifer Leslie Woodward, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Woodward, Warsaw. She was sponsored by Ankersen's of Warsaw, and is a student at St. Andrew's Presbyterian College. The first runner-up was Julie Anne Neterer, Syracuse, and second runner-up was Deea Nicole Clear, North Webster.

    Phillip Paxton, 11-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Joe C. Paxton, Route 2, Warsaw, had the surprise of his youth while catching roosters on his grandfather Owen Horn's farm on Ind. 15N, Warsaw.

Phil grabbed one rooster who had three legs - a triple treat for drumstick lovers.

July 25 1948

    The Town of Atwood and citizens of Prairie and Harrison townships will dedicate their new fire station, built one year ago by popular subscription.

A quartet from Warsaw will be on hand to furnish music, and Leroy, the magician and ventriloquist, will entertain young and old.

75 Years Ago
July 25 1923

    Sybil Lytle, 15, swam a distance of 3-3/4 miles from one end of Tippecanoe Lake to the other, or from near the Rippey cottage at Kalorama park to Grassy Creek.

Last summer the girl swam across the lake to Cripplegates park in 40 minutes and has made several good swimming records at the lake for a girl of her age.
