    Rachel D. Platt, 17, daughter of Hank and Vera Platt, Warsaw, will compete in the Miss TEEN Pageant in Adams Mark Hotel, Indianapolis.

In the pageant, Platt and other 13- to 18-year- olds will be honored and recognized for their personal, scholastic and community achievements.

    Ora Lee Allen, 944 E. Garfield St., Warsaw, was the winner of the bicycle awarded recently by the participating merchants in the Lakeview Shopping Center on East Winona Avenue during the Pioneer Days observance and sales.

July 24 1950

    Mrs. Jim Cook, assisted by Mrs. Arthur Lowry, entertained the Warsaw Button Society recently at her home on East Jefferson Street. Mrs. Ray Linn, of Mentone, presented an interesting discussion, "Travel Buttons," and also displayed a number of this type of buttons. Mrs. N. Martin, past president of the Oaktown Button Society, presented an exhibit of antique buttons, which were beautiful as well as rare.

    Charles Krahwohl has purchased the Mentone Gazette, a weekly newspaper at Mentone, from Claude Taylor, who has published the paper since David H. Clymer, now of Long Beach, Calif., relinquished the ownership several years ago.
