Jeff Moore became the second bowler to roll an honor score while competing in the Monday Men's Summer League at Holiday Bowl. On July 9, Moore came one pin away from perfection as he rolled a 299 in his final game to help post a 745 series. For his efforts, Moore will receive a ring from the American Bowling Congress and an award jacket from Holiday Bowl.

John H. Ream, retired section foreman at North Manchester, comes through with the best fish story of the week, and he insists it is true.

It happened this past weekend at Lake Wawasee. Ream said he caught two fish - a perch and a large bluegill - at the same time. The bluegill was on the hook, the perch just above the hook. In some manner the perch had taken the baited hook into its mouth, the hook had slipped out through a gill, and then the bluegill grabbed the bait.

A magnetic attraction, probably a mineral deposit deep in the ground under the Charles Finton home, seven miles east of Warsaw, located between the Pennsylvania tracks and the Yellowstone paved road, is believed responsible for the seven times which lightening has struck his home and trees there. The house has been hit three times, once the chimney was knocked off and the womenfolks stunned. Four times trees in the yard were shattered. Five radios installed there have failed to operated despite the fact that experts install them.
