While mowing hay on the Robert Chinworth farm, west of the city, Aaron Kincaid and his team were attacked by a swarm of bees and he and his equines were severely stung. Kincaid suffered more than 100 stings and the horses a similar number as he unhitched them from the mower.

Blinded and in a semi-unconscious condition from pain, Kincaid went to the Thomas Groninger home, which was nearest the field in which he was working. He was brought to a Warsaw hospital and was given treatment.
