    David McGinness, a member of the Winona Lake Free Methodist Church, is serving a short-term missions assignment in Chile with Volunteers in Service Abroad.

He will be using puppets made by Connie Blue of Hickory Estates, with scripts translated and recorded by Nancy Reinose (with Spanish World Mission); Axa Carvajal, a Grace College graduate; and Linda Beeson, a student at Roberts Wesleyan, a Free Methodist College in New York.

    Herb Haist, of Agri Center, Mentone, graduated from a Kent Feed three-day dealer training school at Muscatine, Iowa. Nearly 100 Kent Feed dealers and employees from the firm's 10-state marketing area attended.

    Two trophies and five medals in baton twirling contests have been won during the past 10 days by Janet Walter, Warsaw High School girl. These contests were held in Indiana, Ohio, Illinois and Michigan.

July 20 1926

    A large number took advantage this afternoon of the use of the new toboggan slide which has just been completed at the municipal beach at Center Lake on the north side of this city park.

At 2 this afternoon, more than 250 persons were in the lake and 32 automobiles were parked along the beach. The sleds ran out into the lake for more than 50 feet.
