    Students from Redeemer Lutheran School who were winners in the recent AAL Branch 2648 essay contest each received a book for the school's library. The winners, who wrote on "How Jesus' Love Touches My Family," also had their names engraved on a plaque listing past winners. Winners are Steven Kuhn and Gabe Rude, tied for third; Tiffany Hart and Keith Glova, tied for second; and Rebecca Cole, first.

    Three world records were eclipsed Saturday and Sunday at Beeson Rifle Range near Etna Green in the annual Indiana State Championships.

Warsaw's Tom Metzger broke one of the world marks in single group at 200-yards with a .198, which beat Francis Broussard's mark of .210 set in August 1976.

    Sue Hammer and Richard Hepler were joined in a semi-formal ceremony uniting them in marriage, held Saturday evening at the Atwood Methodist Church. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Hammer Jr., Warsaw, and Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Hepler, of near Atwood, are the parents of the couple.

    The Zimmer Manufacturing Co., manufacturers of fracture appliances, is holding a convention of the sales force this week, marking the close of the first fiscal year for the concern. Despite the fact that the past year has been considered somewhat slow in business circles, this firm has experienced a tremendous volume since July 1, 1927.
