    Sara Snyder earned a silver medal in the White River State Park Games in the 13-14 age group in the shot put competition.

Snyder earned the medal with a heave of 40-5.

July 18 1975

    David K. Barnett, Springhill Acres, Warsaw, was awarded The Susan Huber Prize for excellence in biblical studies during the junior year at Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary in Kentucky.

Professors in biblical studies at the seminary name one student each year to receive the honor. The award is the only academic honor given a first-year seminary student.

    The Hobart Creightons are putting up a new home of Bedford limestone on the Crystal Lake Road west of Warsaw. The structure, which will be a showplace, will be a single-story affair 137 feet long with five bedrooms. The framework is already up. Plans call for construction of an air landing strip behind the house.

    Boys and girls, listen to this fish story.

It's true, every word. Some 100 persons this morning and scores more this afternoon gathered at Center Lake to verify the weird tales which they could not believe and neither would we until we saw it with our own eyes, and took a shotgun shot at the monster sea serpent which this morning terrorized fishermen on Center Lake, right within the corporation limits of our town. It's 20 feet long. Head like snake, body a foot thick.
