Brian Leal won the local round of the ninth annual Marsh Super Sacker Contest at the Marsh Supermarket, Warsaw. Leal has been sacking groceries for one year. Store Manager Dan Boggs presented Leal with an invitation to a special awards luncheon hosted by Marsh President and CEO Don E. Marsh. Leal and winners from all 78 Marsh stores will hear from a special mystery guest speaker.
Jon Graves of Warsaw recently caught a 12-pound, 6-ounce channel catfish, measuring 30 inches long out of the Tippecanoe River. The Warsaw angler caught the large fish using a frog as bait.
A Milford girl, Jo Ellen McClintic, 7, won a third-place medal at the baton-twirling contest held in North Webster during the Mermaid Festival. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bruce McClintic, Milford. Approximately 100 girls aged 6 to 18 competed for trophies and medals.
Gael D. Munson, local dealer in the Willys, Willys-Knight and Packard automobiles, has added to his line, the Studebaker agency. The Studebaker cars will be on display in the Munson show room July 18.
