Roberts Signs took the championship of the BalloonFest Mud Volleyball tournament at Spikes. The team went undefeated in the tourney. Members of the team include Dawn Curtis, Davina Curtis, Kent Shively, Randy Roberts, Ed Roberts and Randy Price.
Judi Huffer will attend the 72nd National Convention, "Hoosier Spectacular," of Delta Theta Tau Sorority Inc. at the Hilton on the Circle, Indianapolis, July 15-19. She will be a delegate representing the Beta Zeta chapter of Warsaw. Other members planning to attend are Jan Osborn, Eva Perry and Carol Berg.
Mrs. A.L. Price, of Silver Lake, Times-Union correspondent for the Center community, sent in the following bit of philosophy concerning her 60th wedding anniversary: "We started out with 10 acres, a one-room house. Seventy-five dollars bought a good cow. We put down a well, bought a woven picket fence for a garden and paid a $5 grocery bill. A little bit bought a lot then, and after 60 years of married life we are still going."
Twenty new army transport trucks, in charge of U.S. regular army officers, passed through Warsaw en route east early this afternoon on Ind. 30. A stop was made at the Lake Street filling station of the Standard Oil Co. for refueling. They were unusually large and heavy trucks.
