    Josh Garner, 18, a 1992 graduate of Warsaw Community High School, recently joined the Star of Indiana Drum and Bugle Corps.

Membership in the Star of Indiana is earned through fiercely competitive try-out and practice sessions held monthly at the unit's headquarters.

    PACKERTON - At the recent annual father-son banquet at Packerton Free Will Baptist Church, Herbert J. Mann, Rt. 2, Warsaw, was chosen father of the year.

Runners up for the annual honor were: Chad Burkhart and Homer Swinehart.

    The Kosciusko County 40 and 8 organization of the American Legion installed Dr. C.R. Wagner, Warsaw, as Chef de Gare. Others installed were Eugene Felkner, Milford, Chef de Train; John Hayden, Warsaw, Conducteur; Fred Yohey, Warsaw, Commissaire Intendent; Tim Darr, Syracuse, Correspondent; John Bishopp, Warsaw, Garde de la Porte; Alex Pittenger, Warsaw, Commis Voyageur; and Cliff Downhour, Warsaw, Cheminott.

    Mr. and Mrs. Charles Linn will leave on Sunday for Melwood Park, Smalley Lake, Noble County, to stay for a week. The fish at the lake are beckoning Charley, and he promises not to take 'em too small or too many at a time.
