    Grace College basketball coach Jim Kessler has all the reason to be smiling these days: he just landed another impressive recruit for the upcoimg season.

Warsaw standout Brian Elliott has decided to continue to play in front of the hometown fans. He announced that he would be attending Grace on a basketball/golf scholarship.

July 15 1975

    The late George L. Fisher, head football coach at Warsaw High School for 27 years, will be officially inducted into the Indiana Football Hall of Fame July 16 at a dinner and program in the Shrine Building.

Dave Rankin, Fisher's greatest gridiron product who became an All-American end at Purdue University in 1939 and 1940, will present a hall of fame plaque to Fisher's widow, Mariam, as a climax to the program.

July 15 1950

    Larry Kehler, 12-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Dale Kehler, of 1001 E. Clark St., Warsaw, participated in the big Soap Box Derby held in Fort Wayne. Larry placed second in the ninth heat of the race.

    George Basile and Russell Shull, Warsaw young men, sailors in the U.S. Navy, have written home from Australia, where they are with the navy vessels encircling the globe.
