    G.L. Miller and Larry Deacon were the winners in a T&G Circuit open bass tournament on Dewart Lake. The pair boated eight bass for a total weight of 14 pounds, 9 ounces during the eight-hour tournament. They also took home big bass honors for the day with a 4-pound, 9-ouncer. Second-place finishers were Dave Haywood and Barry Beatty, who boated five fish weighing 8 pounds, 13 ounces.

    Two local teenagers, Christy and Robbie Beck, won first and second place in an open dog show held recently in New Castle. They are members of the Kosciusko County 4-H Dog Club, and exhibited their pets Samantha and Muffin.

    Semeramis Kutz, of Warsaw, has enrolled in summer school at Cornell University, Ithaca, N.Y., for a six-week course in administration of rural education. Kutz is on furlough this year from her duties as director of a vocational school for girls at El Vergel, Chili.

    Isaac Blosser, of North Lake Street, producer of fancy fruits, presented Ye Editor and staff with some fine samples of his Early Mayflower peaches today.

And Ye Editor is indebted to Lloyd S. Roose for the most delicious black raspberries of this season. Thanks, Lloyd! Lloyd produces some excellent berries and vegetables at his country home near Lakeside Park.
