    Members of Warsaw Community Schools' Future Farmers of American chapter fared well at the state competition at Purdue University in West Lafayette.

Dennis Boggs placed third in the state for diversified crop production proficiency while Gary Spangle received a third in the state for placement and agriculture production proficiency.

    Ray Bricker and his guest, Bob Miller, Rochester, combined to capture top honors at the Rozella Ford fourth annual member-guest Golf Invitational with a two-day total of 146 points.

    A new tubeless (Seal-o-matic) tire of the B.F. Goodrich Co. was announced today for the retail market by John Kehoe, manager of the Ford's Auto Supply, of this city.

He emphasized that since there is no tube to be snagged or pierced by a tire iron, the new tire is actually easier to put on and take off than the ordinary ones.

    Nineteen interurban poles on the Winona Interurban line between Mentone and Akron were blown over shortly before noon today when a severe rain storm struck that vicinity. Rain fell in thick sheets for a period of 10 minutes or more.
