Potpourri - Do you remember when Waco, a big wooden screened-in dance pavilion located about where Mock's Landing is on Lake Wawasee, played host to such big name bands as Benny Goodman, Tommy Dorsey, Jimmy Dorsey, Cab Calloway, Duke Ellington, Glenn Miller and Harry James, to name a few? Moonlight night flying is a thrilling sport, according to Raymond Zimmer, Warsaw flyer. During the past few nights, Zimmer has been taking his plane up and circling about the city which he claims is far less dangerous than trying to pilot his automobile about the streets of Warsaw or on the country roads, now choked with traffic by tourists and persons seeking relief from the heat.

Lighted streets and buildings of Warsaw are easily seen, but the greatest danger in night flying, he says, is that trees are not visible from a short distance in the air and wires cannot be seen at all.
