    Almost 70 contestants braved the high temperatures and humidity to vie for the title of fair cutie king and queen. The winners were Sierra Sims as cutie queen, Andy Keener as cutie king, Tarissa Martin as queen runner-up and Sterling as king runner-up.


25 Years Ago

July 13 1979

    Whitko won the Three Rivers Conference baseball championship this season with an 11-1 league record. The Wildcats' title team members are Brett Patrick, Steve Mort, Dave Ainweller, Rex Kreger, Mike Conley, Jim Mort, Jeff Menzie, Jeff Brubaker, Royce Maynard, Neal Frantz, Ed Gebert, Doug Rubrake, Dave Walker, Bill Hough and Phil Snep. The team's coach is Bill Patrick, assistant coach is Steve McManama and batboy is Chad Patrick.


50 Years Ago

July 13 1954

    Mr. and Mrs. O.F. Guy, of 719 W. Winona Ave., will celebrate their 63rd wedding anniversary at a family gathering Sunday. They have lived in or near Warsaw all of their lives. Mrs. Guy was the former Orpha A. Allen, of Etna Green.

July 13 1929

    Three Warsaw young people have been named on the distinguished student roll at Purdue University for the excellence of work done during the second semester of the 1928-29 school years.

The Kosciusko County students who won the high scholastic rating were Nelson M. Cook, of Warsaw, a junior in the school of agriculture; Donald D. Sutherlin, of Warsaw, a senior in the school of agriculture; and Margaret E. Keller, of Warsaw, a sophomore in the school of science.
