    Biomet Inc., of Warsaw, announced a working agreement with United States Surgical Corp. of Norwalk, Conn., to produce a line of bioresorbable orthopedic products.

The new products will be absorbed gradually by the body after implantation, eliminating the need to remove them later. They may be used to repair small bone fractures, injuries to the head and in surgery, said Biomet spokesman Greg W. Sasso.

    Susan Henricks of Warsaw was among those making history at the recent Quasquicentennial or 125th anniversary convention of Phi Mu national collegiate sorority at the Mills Hyatt House in historic Charleston, S.C. Henricks is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Henricks and is president of her Phi Mu collegiate chapter at the University of Utah.

    The Jolly Gentlemen 4-H Club presented their retiring leader, Robert Plummer, with a 4-H desk set at a meeting June 29 at the Claypool school house.

The new 4-H leader and vocational agricultural teacher at Claypool, Mr. Mollingner, was introduced by Plummer.

    Franklin Cole, Winona Lake, who graduated from the Warsaw High School this year, has been awarded the Edward Rector scholarship at DePauw University. This provides the sum of $175 a year and is good for eight consecutive semesters. Cole probably will enter the law department of the University this fall.
