    Three Kosciusko County families were honored with Hoosier Homestead Awards recently.

Lt. Gov. Frank O'Bannon, Indiana's commissioner of agriculture, honored 42 families throughout the state. The honor is bestowed on farms in Indiana that have been owned by the same family for 100 years or more. Among those honored were the Kosciusko County families of Joseph and Mary Ellen Long, Michael and Karen Nelson and Ronald and Genevieve Metzger.

    Tippecanoe Lake Country Club ladies' bridge-luncheon group met Wednesday with 12 tables in play. Hostesses for the day were Mrs. Bernard Hess and Mrs. Lawrence Castaldi.

High score prizes were held by Mrs. Karl Freese, Mrs. Loretta Davis, Laura Hadley, Mrs. Sam Dungan, Mrs. William Johnson, Mrs. Erwin Nieman, Mrs. Harry Phend, Mrs. Gene Paul, Mrs. K.K. McGarney, Mrs. David Stainaker, Mrs. Phillip Spear and Mrs. Ethel Fish.

    Richard E. Campbell, Betty Armstrong, Shirley L. Ringer, Shirley Wolfe, Richard Shaffer and Larry W. Kinsey, of this community, and Charles W. Urschel, of Mentone, are attending the eighth annual high school music clinic at Indiana University, Bloomington. Bazil O'Reilley, Warsaw band director, is counselor at the clinic.

    Rev. S. David Sikes, evangelist of Winona Lake, has returned from a trip in the East, where he attended the Baptist World Alliance at Toronto, Canada, and visited friends in Buffalo. He also filled a pulpit in western New York. His new book "God Used Sermons," was favorably received in Canada and other points where he visited.
