    Three Warsaw residents received complimentary balloon rides from Penguin Point restaurants.

Winners were Mary King, Dale Phillips and Beth Miller.

    Judi Warren will make the transformation from player to coach as she has been named the girls basketball coach at South Dearborn High School.

Warren, who also will teach physical education at South Dearborn, completed this spring a four-year hardwood career at Franklin College, leading the Grizzlyettes to an 18-6 record and a berth in the AIAW post season tournament.

July 1 1955

    Six-year-old David Lee Patterson, of Warsaw, and Marilyn Applegate, 6-year-old Gaston girl, were crowned "Cutie King and Queen" at the North Webster Mermaid Festival.

The new "king" is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Max L. Patterson, and the "queen" is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Applegate.

July 1 1930

    An invention, originated with the idea of having it used in the post offices of the United States, has been completed by Roscoe A. Trumbull, residing on East Market Street. Trumbull has been working on the idea since 1908 and it is only recently that his dream has been realized.

He has recently performed a simple but ingenious device for use in the United States and foreign postal services. At this time Trumbull has not disclosed the nature of the invention.
