    The top bowlers for December at Holiday Bowl have been announced. They are Jan Godshalk (women's high series, 598); Terry Wright (men's high game, 289); and Joyce Neer (women's high game, 223). John Nichols had the men's high series with 767.

The top bowlers at Gilliam Lanes are Jeannine Cavell (women's high series, 658); John Nichols (men's high game, 300); and Chris Curl (women's high game, 278). Brian Ammerman had the men's high series with a 775.

    Kosciusko County's Extension home economist, Ann Hancook, is being promoted to a special staff assignment within the Extension service at Purdue University, West Lafayette.

She and her husband, Steve, hope to find a home in West Lafayette, and she will begin her new duties, which include planning the annual three-day state homemaker's conference in June, on Feb. 1.

January 9 1951

    Recognition was paid to the 25-year members of Eel River Chapter Order of the Eastern Star, South Whitley, at the recent meeting. Worthy Matron Mrs. Byron Bauman presented the 25-year emblems to five of the 37 eligible members. Those present to receive the silver emblems were Mrs. Paul Garber, Mrs. Harry Hensel, Mrs. Lizzie Yeager, Mrs. O.E. Hull and Mrs. G.L. Canada. Mrs. Mae Dauer, Mrs. Ruth Sowers and Mrs. Alba Glassley have also received their emblems.

    Charles Finton, well-known plasterer of east of Warsaw, has received a black groundhog pelt from his brother, Henry Finton, living in New York. Black groundhog pelts are very rare.
