Sue Balke was presented with $100 as the winner of Act II's recent cash drawing. Act II is a new consigned clothing shop located in The Center Center. Act II owner Kay Jones presented the money as part of the store's opening.
Mayor H. Dale Tucker, who promised city voters he would be a "full-time" mayor, found out during his first few days in office that he could not break that promise if he tried.
It was announced that the Paul M. Bilby Funeral Home, Warsaw, will hereafter be known as the Bilby-McHatton Funeral Home. Paul M. Bilby, who has operated the Bilby Funeral Home at the corner of Main and High streets for the past 14 years, said that his assistant, Gerald McHatton, has been taken into the firm as a partner.
While Dr. and Mrs. W.B. Cline of Silver Lake were spending last evening in their home, a great noise arose from the outside - bells, pans, whistles, etc., in the hands of "old timers" being responsible. Upon investigation about 25 guests walked into the home to spend the evening. Among them were John Oldfather, Arthur Smith, Austin Robison, Frank Brown, Abe Jontz and Gain McClure, who had taken part in the "belling" given 50 years ago.
