    KELLY AFB, Texas - Marine Corps Lance Cpl. Mark D. Jackson has completed the electronic warfare signal intelligence Morse interceptor course at Fort Devens, Ayer, Mass.

The course include instructional international Morse code and message recording and forwarding equipment. Jackson is the son of Steve D. and Linda Jackson, North Manchester. He is a 1990 graduate of Manchester High School.

    Gregg Flory, 6, and his brother Doug, 9, sons of Mr. and Mrs. John Flory, Rt. 2, Leesburg, visited with Lillian Carter, mother of the president-elect, at the train station in Plains, Ga., on a motor home trip to Florida. The Florys are visiting Tampa, Fla., and intend to fish in the mangroves of the Everglades and camp on the Florida Keys before returning home via Walt Disney near Orlando.

    Attending the special Rural Youth Club events at West Lafayette today in connection with the Purdue agricultural conference were Assistant County Agent Leo Seltenright, Ed Gregory and Dave Hackbirth, of Pierceton, Doris Hardin, of Silver Lake, and LeRoy Norris and his daughter, Elener, of Mentone.

Miss Norris gave her state prize-winning demonstration on pasteurization of milk at the afternoon health and safety session.

    Fifty legionnaires were present last night at the installation of the new officers of the John C. Peterson post, American Legion.

Officers installed were: Carl F. Beyer, post commander; W.F. Maish Jr., first vice commander; Everett Rasor, second vice commander; Roy Bowen, chaplain; J.R. Steineback, adjutant; and L.A. Peterson, fiance officer.
