    Christopher Sanders has been elected president of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics chapter at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge, Mass.

Sanders is a former student at Warsaw Community High School and graduated from the Indiana Academy for Science, Mathematics and Humanities, at Ball State. He is the son of Brenda Sanders and John Sanders, both of Warsaw.

    Jeffry L. Archer, of Leesburg, has been awarded an associate instructorship in the telecommunications division of Indiana University's Graduate School, Bloomington.

Archer, son of Mr. and Mrs. Norman Archer, Leesburg, is a 1977 graduate of Warsaw Community High School.

January 6 1956

    The Russell Phillips family, of Warsaw, had an interesting experience when a very large Marsh Hawk flew through the window and into the Phillips home. Hearing the breaking glass Mrs. Phillips went to investigate and found the large bird unconscious on the floor. Mrs. Phillips, who had had some experience with birds in the past, revived it by putting cold water on its head. It was very strong and grasp her apron with its claws, she then turned the bird loose in the yard and if flew into a nearby tree.

January 6 1931

    Pupils of the Claypool school presented a three-act play "Professor Pepp," in the Claypool school auditorium. The leading character, "Professor Pepp," was well portrayed by Elmer Gunter. He was assisted by a splendid cast consisting of the following persons: James Eaton, Russell Dick, Ralph Boggs, Paul Scott, Harry Vogt, Wilson Weirick, Clarence Salmon, Margaret Wonderly, Esther Hatfield, Dale Lightfoot, Edith Vance, Naomi Tibbitts, Helen Cripe, Helen Keplinger and Crystal Shoemaker.
