    Gordy Bumbaugh was chosen as the 1993 Breadings Man of the Year. Bruce Howe, past recipient of the award and the emcee of the annual event, presented the prestigious plaque. This year's auction and fund-raising of more than $1,500 was given to the Girls Club, Little League, CCAC and needy families.

    COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - U.S. Air Force Academy Cadet Dennis G. Macklin, son of Mr. and Mrs. Marvin O. Macklin, South Whitley, took part in the Rose Bowl Parade held in Pasadena, Calif.

The cadet is a member of the Academy Drum and Bugle Corps which has been chosen to be the lead unit in the New Year's Rose Bowl Parade.

    Jon Jontz, Silver Lake High School basketball captain, presented the championship trophy to his school principal, John Frederick, symbolic of the Silver Lake basketball team winning the four-way holiday tournament Saturday night at Akron. Silver Lake handed Mentone its first defeat of the season 48-44, in the championship game.
