Word was received from J.E. Beyer, of Winona Lake, now in Sacramento, Calif., to the effect that he has seen the whale that swallowed Jonah. He writes the editor of The Times in part as follows:
"This is a whale of a fish story. To believe it one must see it. Mrs. Beyer and I have seen it and can vouch for its size of 65 tons and 55 feet of it and its baby whale of 6,000 pounds. If you had seen its mouth you would no longer doubt the possibility of Jonah passing through it. If Jonah had been riding a Roman chariot, Jonah, chariot, horses and all could have been swallowed."
