    A quartet of area wrestlers claimed individual championships in the Northern Lakes Conference Tournament held at Wawasee High School. They are Warsaw champions Darrell Carr and Chad Criswell, and Wawasee champions Zack Lash and Joey Salazar.

    Members of the local chapter of the Order of the Arrow of the Boy Scouts of America attended the winter banquet in Fort Wayne recently.

Local members of the order were recognized for their outstanding achievements. Jim Carlson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Neal Carlson, Warsaw, received the Wischinksin Award as well as the Vigil Honor, the highest honor in the Order of the Arrow. Others receiving honors were, Bill Deerwester, Wischinksin Award and Charlie Roberts, Vigil Honor.

    Mrs. John Benson and Mrs. O.W. French were welcomed into membership of the Winona Lake Book club at the meeting held at the home Mrs. A.R. Greider, Winona Lake.

The new president, Mrs. Lyle Martin, succeeding Mamie Matson, outlined suggestions for the coming year and distributed a booklet containing the year's programs to each member present.

January 31 1929

    Wayne McCann, of Leesburg, star center and a member of the 1929 all-county team was awarded The Times trophy at the intermission of the Milford-Mentone game.

This trophy is awarded by The Times each year to the player showing best mental attitude, exemplary conduct both in and off the basketball floor during the tourney and proficiency as a player. He is a senior in the Leesburg High School.
