    Eight students from Whitko Community School Corporation were awarded selected medals in the World Schoolchildren's Art Competition.

Those honored were Lori Mench, Tim Gaff, Matt Slone, Corrie Geer, Lori Fruit, Andrew Roberts, Robert Block and Melanie Alberding.

January 29 1980

    Prior to Friday night's Tippecanoe Valley-Manchester basketball game at the TVHS gym, Valley football coach Charlie Smith presented a plaque to Tim Alspaugh for his selection to the high school All-American grid team named by the National High School Athletic Coaches Association. The senior running back was one of six Hoosier prepsters nominated for All-America honors.

January 29 1955

    The new North Webster Church of God building, which is valued at $100,000, will be dedicated at services scheduled for Sunday, Rev. E. Earl Wells, pastor said today.

The church building is of semi-Gothic design built of red brick trimmed in Indiana limestone, and is situated on the site of the old North Webster school.

January 29 1930

    The value of advertising in the Warsaw Daily Times was again demonstrated in a most unusual way today when Dayton Paxton, of the Schrader & Co., received a letter from Orn Shoemaker, Warsawan wintering at Daytona, Fla. Shoemaker had seen the Schrader advertisement in his copy of the The Times which he receives daily there. Noting the low prices and comparing them with Florida prices, he ordered Paxton to send him a set of Goodyears.
