    Sixth-grader Andy Price, son of Mr. and Mrs. Gary Price, Bourbon, took top honors at the recent Triton Elementary geography bee; while Rachel Speicher, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Bruce Speicher, Bourbon, was the runner-up.

    Cub Scouts in Pack 3819 competed in the annual pinewood derby race at the Knights of Columbus Hall, Warsaw, and taking awards were Mike Hoagland, best design award and winner in Den 1, Dave Hoagland, grand champion, and Joe Scattoloni, winner in Den 2. Their parents are Mr. and Mrs. J.R. Hoagland, Goose Lake, Warsaw, and Mr. and Mrs. Tom Scattoloni, Indian Village, Warsaw.

    Carl L. Klinefelter, Etna Green, has been elected to the fall pledge class of Beta Theta Phi Fraternity at Purdue University, according to an announcement by the Interfraternity Council. Klinefelter is a freshman in the school of engineering at Purdue.

    The local domino-rhume marathon title was captured early this morning when Milton Staford, farmer of near this city, and Jesse Hyde Jr., Warsaw, completed 217 continuous games of rhume in 15 hours.

They exhausted more than half a dozen partners playing without leaving their chairs at the Chris Gilbertson corner cigar store.
