    The Anthony Nigo Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Mentone, announces that Angie Merrill has been named winner of the Kosciusko County Award.

A senior at Tippecanoe Valley High School, she is also winner of the 1989-90 DAR Good Citizen contest at the school.

    Mrs. Robert E. Green, formerly of Warsaw, has been elected first woman president of the Indiana Council of Churches.

Mrs. Green is the former Dorothea Scott and daughter of Mrs. Marion Scott, Winona Lake.

    Citations for Excellent Fire Prevention Week campaigns in 1949 will be issued to 12 Hoosier cities and towns, State Fire Marshall Alex Hougland announced.

    Mr. and Mrs. Fred C. Johnson, of two miles east of Monoquet, celebrated their golden wedding anniversary at their home on Wednesday. Mr. and Mrs. Johnson were married in Fort Wayne and during their married life have made their home on the farm on which they now reside. They received a number of gold coins and gifts in remembrance of the fiftieth celebration.
