    An unplanned rodeo took place in Warsaw when a missing steer was corraled in a yard on Cambridge Drive. The steer, owned by Plina Roberts, West CR 100N, was on the loose for about a week before Warsaw police spotted it roaming in Brookwood Addition. The round-up took more than two hours to complete.

January 26 1980

    Jill Anderson of Warsaw is among a select group of North American women invited to tea at the White House Jan. 22. The invitation, extended by Rosalyn Carter, involves wives in attendance at the National Association of Religious Broadcasters convening in the nation's capital next week.

Mrs. Anderson, together with her husband, Lane, will be in Washington next week for the broadcasters' convention. They will represent Ken Anderson Films of Warsaw, with whom both are employed.

    Nancy Lilly, a senior at the South Whitley High School, who was chosen to represent her class in the good citizen contest sponsored annually by the Daughters of the American Revolution, placed second in competition, it was reported today.

She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. DeWitt Lilly, Columbia City.

    M. Claire Chapman, of Winona Lake, who graduated from the Warsaw High School in 1927, has been chosen associate editor of a new magazine which has recently made it first appearance at Ball State Teachers' College, This publication, "The Torch," is the first literary magazine to be published by students at the college.
