    MADISON, Wis. - Joe Beeson of Warsaw won the Western Senior Open Indoor Tennis championship in the 60-and-over division last weekend at Cherokee Country Club in Madison, Wis.

Beeson, who is the pro at the Warsaw Racquet Club and coaches the Warsaw Community High School boys and girls tennis team, beat Don Vought of Neehan, Wis., in the finals 6-2,6-1.

    WEST LAFAYETTE - Leisa Waggoner, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Waggoner, of 2003 Oakwood Dr., Warsaw, is one of eight Indiana youths who will study abroad this year as part of the International 4-H Youth Exchange Program.

Leisa, a junior at Warsaw Community High School and a six-year-member of the local 4-H program, will leave the first part of June and return in August.

    Warsaw High School's Whitey Bell scored 37 points against Claypool, breaking the former Kosciusko county tournament single-game scoring mark of 36 points, and also bettering the former Warsaw school record of 32 points.

    Some big catches of bass are reported from Oswego and Tippecanoe Lake. Irish Pippin and Harry Spencer landed five big ones but "Timber Wolf" Shue held his title, catching 13 bass weighing from 2 to 5-1/2 pounds. Phil Brown landed one weighing almost 6 by pounds fishing through the ice.
