    Michael Rice, 33, North Manchester, has joined the Warsaw Fire Department as a full-time officer.

Rice began his duties Jan. 1 with the city. He is a 13-year veteran of the Chester Township Fire Department near North Manchester and is a graduate of Manchester High School.

    Mrs. C.R. Collins, chairman of Agnes Pruyn Chapman chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution, has announced that Larry Allen, a student of Wawasee High School, has been named Kosciusko County winner of the Good Citizen Contest, sponsored annually by the chapter.

This is the first year that boys as well as girls have been eligible for competition. The winner is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Dale Allen, Rt. 4, Syracuse.

    Estel Bemenderfer, former state police officer in Kosciusko and Fulton counties, has been reelected president of the famous Akron Jonah Club Inc.

Other officers named were Walter Zimmerman, vice kingfish; Harold Crowel, assistant vice kingfish; Arthur Kuhn, first vice president; and Abe Caldwell, secretary-treasurer.

    Leonard Huffer, deputy county treasurer, was awarded the radio given away by the Adams & Funk Pharmacy to the person holding the right key. The number of keys given out during the holiday season was 5,128, and about 2,000 keys were returned to the store before Huffer appeared with the right one.
