A local man, Steve Peach, recently appeared on the "America's Funniest Home Videos" show. The Wawasee High School graduate was show getting knocked into the water during an outing at Vinegar Bend in July.
Cerese Kessie, Whitko High School's 1976 Junior Miss, will attend and compete in the state pageant held in Frankfort on Jan. 27-30.
Tom Hapner, Syracuse, landed a large pike at Lake Wawasee. He used river shiners for bait and a 24-pound test nylon line. The fish weighed 13 pounds and measured 37 inches in length. It took him 10 minutes to land the big fellow.
The new Claypool post office building, being erected by Roy Caldwell, is nearing completion and is being praised by many of the citizens and visitors. Postmaster Lewis Debolt claims that when finished the Claypool post office building will be one of the best in northern Indiana, for the size of the town.
