COLUMBIA CITY - The Pierceton seventh grade basketball team breezed to its 10th victory in 11 starts Tuesday, while their eight grade counterparts had a bit tougher time in providing a Cub sweep.

Charlie Dull's 20-foot jumper from the corner with 12 seconds left gave the eighth grade a 44-43 victory over Thorncreek. The ball rolled around the rim a few times before it finally fell through, giving Dull his 26th and 27th points. A last-second fling by the Columbia City crew fell short as Pierceton improved to 5-6.
