    Dinah Armey, Warsaw, is serving as president-elect of the Indiana Lawyers Auxiliary. She has served as treasurer and secretary and will become president of ILA at the October 1993 meeting.

    Marine Gunnery Sergeant Mark E. Kite, son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul E. Kite, Rt. 1, South Whitley, has been promoted to his present rank while serving at the Marine Corps Air Station, Beaufort, S.C.

He joined the Marine Corps in February 1968.

    Henry Butler, Warsaw, was elected Second District director for the Indiana Association of District and County Fairs at the annual meeting held Thursday at the Severin Hotel, Indianapolis. The meeting was attended by Butler, William Orr and Russell Smith, representatives of the Kosciusko County Fair Association.

January 23 1928

    Ed McClellan, Syracuse, shot a water snake, which was crawling on the ice on Syracuse Lake. The snake was more than three feet long.

On the same day McClellan saw a flock of wild canaries, a robin and a red wing blackbird. This looks like spring is just around the corner.
