Times-Union Publisher M.R. Williams announced several changes in the editorial department of this newspaper. Appointed to the newly created position of Editor-in-Chief is Norman Hagg; City Editor Gary Lewis becomes acting Managing Editor; and Robert Lamirand moves from the state desk to the post of Wire Editor.
Ida S. Miles, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William J. Wallen of 105 15th St., Winona Lake, has been accepted as a freshman student at Palmer College of Chiropractic at Davenport, Iowa.
Basketball fans who heard a play-by-play account of all the tourney games said that reception was very good at both Breading's Cigar Store and at the Elks Club. A telephone hookup directly from the armory to these two establishments made possible the unusual broadcast. Louis "Peanuts" Breading said: "One fellow even came in and wanted to know what station the tourney was being broadcast over. Poor guy was going to go home and try to get it on his radio."
Warsaw doctors, who answer incessant emergency sick calls every hour of the night and day, who leave interrupted meals and live on an irregular schedule, seek rest by going to Chicago hotels and sleeping almost weeks at a time. They find that as long as they remain in Warsaw they are unable to resist answering urgent calls. Fear of a nervous and physical breakdown forced them to resort to the Chicago hotel sleep treatment.
