    April Tom, the daughter of Phil and Annis Tom, Cromwell, has been awarded a President's Scholarship at Bluffton College in Ohio. The scholarship recognizes excellence in grade point average, class ranking and standardized test scores.

Tom, a student at West Noble High School, has participated in Girls' Glee Club, Concert Choir, band, Madrigal, National Honor Society and 4-H.

    Five members of the Lucky Lassies 4-H club received awards for perfect attendance during the 1972-73 year in a recent meeting held at the home of Cathy and Linda Rogers.

Receiving awards were Annette Nelson, Cathy Rogers, Linda Rogers, Judy Meinert and Renee Silveus.

    Ray L. Strayer Jr., 22-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Ray L. Strayer, Claypool, has been signally honored by being voted a member of the Blue Key fraternity, the highest scholastic honorship fraternity on the Indiana University campus. The young man is a senior, already hold a state license from the insurance department of the state of Indiana. He will join his father's firm in Warsaw next July.

    Copper kettles and coils, taken in moonshine raids by a sheriff of a neighboring county and destroyed by battering, were yesterday purchased by a Warsaw junk dealer. The battered metal filled a large truck and attracted much attention at Leesburg where it stopped en route.
