The First Baptist Church of Warsaw began its 100th year of continuous Christian service in this city on Jan. 11, 1950. The church was organized Jan. 11, 1851, and had 10 charter members. Two members of this original group, S.B. Clark and I.J. Morris, gave one-fourth of all they possessed in order to make possible the erection of the first Baptist meeting house ever built in Warsaw. This building was located on North Washington St., and a part of it is still being used as a private dwelling.
