Raymond Adams, Akron, made a round-about way of getting his entry to the Times-Union's Spotlight Professional Football contest. His mailed entry was addressed to the Times-Union correctly and postmarked Nov. 29. However, when it was finally delivered, it had about 10 postmarks on the back from Warsaw, Poland. Don't blame the Warsaw post office, though: It was mailed from Wilmington, Del.
Warsaw Community High School's Rod Wildman received another honor to cap a fantastic prep football career, it was learned today, when he was named all-America by Who's Who in National High School Athletics.
It was learned here today from the Heifer Project committee in New Windsor, Md., that a heifer contributed by a local resident, Loren Metzger, Claypool, in 1948, was safely delivered to a needy family in Italy.
Warsaw radio fans will hear Alvin W. Roper, Winona Lake, from Washington, D.C., next Saturday and Sunday evenings. Mr. Roper left on Friday for Washington, where he will preside at the piano for a choir of several hundred voices, which is in connection with the National Anti-Saloon League convention.
