    Recognition of outstanding businesses, volunteers and community service was the focus of the 84th annual banquet of the Greater Warsaw Area Chamber of Commerce.

Awards for the 1995 woman and man of the year, the highlight of the banquet, were given to Cindy Dobbins and Eddie Creighton.

    Lt. Col. Fredric N. Buckingham, son of Mr. and Mrs. Herman L. Buckingham, Leesburg, has been named commander of the 345th Tactical Airlift Squadron at Yokoto Air Base, Japan.


50 Years Ago

January 20 1956

    Keith Leckrone, of Pierceton, has found pussy willows in bud on his farm 2-1/2 miles east and one-fourth mile north of the Monroe school, north of Sidney. This is very unusual as pussy willows are not generally seen until spring.


75 Years Ago

January 20 1931

    About 65 neighbors and friends from Warsaw and the vicinity gathered at the Munson home Saturday evening and then went to bell Mr. and Mrs. Loran Mort. The bellers showed the bride and groom a most pleasant evening by taking them for a joy ride through Warsaw. After returning home the guests were treated and all departed wishing Mr. and Mrs. Mort a most happy wedded life.
