    The first child born in Kosciusko County in 1996 was Tyler Clark, son of Catherine and Brian Clark of Warsaw. He weighed 8 pounds, 3 ounces, and was born at 10:32 a.m. Jan. 1. Tyler joins a 13-month-old brother, Jordan, at home.

January 2 1981

    Charles Sheetz, son of Mr. and Mrs. Larry Sheetz, Akron, and a senior at Tippecanoe Valley High School has been selected the county winner of the DAR Good Citizen contest. He was sponsored by the Anthony Nigo DAR Chapter of Mentone.


50 Years Ago

January 2 1956

    Jerry Hudson Jr. was the first of two babies born on New Year's Day. He was born to Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Hudson Sr., Pierceton, at 4:20 p.m. in Murphy Medical Center.

The second baby born was John Charles Kubacki, son of Mr. and Mrs. Loren Kubacki, of Pierceton. John was born at 11:34 p.m. at the McDonald Hospital.
