    The first baby of 1991 born in Kosciusko Community Hospital came along at 3:32 p.m. Jan. 1. Mother Kathy Wadkins, Silver Lake, and daughter Aubree Renae, are doing just fine. Aubree weighed in at 9 pounds, 5 ounces, and was 22 inches long.

    SOUTHFIELD, Mich. - An Indiana man who is about to retire after 44 years of truck driving won the top $200,000 prize in the Michigan Lottery's weekly televised super drawing.

Marion M. Truman, 60, Nappanee, said he would use his winnings to invest in retirement property. Truman's wife, Irene, cried throughout almost the entire drawing. Truman is currently employed by Super Sweet Feeds, Nappanee.

    Mr. and Mrs. Lowell Taylor and daughter, Marilyn, of Route 4, entertained at dinner Friday evening in honor of Bill Tinkey, who leaves January 2 for army service. The guests include Mr. and Mrs. Noah Tinkey and children: Beverly, Jerry and Max, and Mrs. Cleo Taylor, of Atwood.

    The new year was ushered in by Warsaw with the blowing of whistles, the firing of a few pistols and the shouts of celebrants.

One feature of New Year's Eve was the holding of a number of radio parties. Some of the eastern stations furnished concerts until 3 a.m.
