    Tom Gunden, a Milford corn producer, was one of 22 agricultural leaders to successfully complete a three-day Agricultural Issues Management Seminar in St. Louis.

Sponsored by the National Corn Growers Association, the AIM seminar's purpose is to provide a select group of farmers from around the nation with factual information on the important issues facing agriculture, plus intensive training in improving communication skills.

    A children's book titled "What Would You Like To Be?" has been written by Velma Bright and illustrated by Patty Alger Schultz, both of Akron, and published by Modern Books at North Manchester. The book is a picture book with easy reading adapted to children from 3 to 7 years of age.

    Victor Beer has been elected president of the Milford Businessmen's Association; Harry Good, vice-president; and E.E. Little, treasurer, Dr. V.G. Hursey was elected a new director and will serve with William Martin and Elmer Rassi, holdover directors. Don Aherns is the retiring president.

January 16 1927

    The first time, according to old-timers, a woman attorney ever tried a case in the Kosciusko Circuit Court was Friday (Jan. 14), when Lucy Upson, lawyer for the Burket Farm Loan Association appeared in court and won her case.

This was a jury case and late Friday the jury brought in a verdict in favor of the plaintiff association for $8.25.
