    The 1990 Heifer Award winners were recognized at the annual meeting of the Indiana Angus Association held at the Sheraton Northeast in Indianapolis. Contestants were judged on a 300-word essay as well as on their Angus awards and accomplishments. Awards chairman John Butts, Loogootee, presented Lisa Bloom, Westville, with the second-place award, and Jill Sommers, Silver Lake, with the first-place award.

    Terry Tucker, president of Maple Leaf Farm, Milford, announced the promotion of two employees and the election of one member to the board of directors.

Richard Goodfellow has been promoted to the position of plant superintendent, and Robert E. Spearman has been moved to the post of plant manager for the Maple Leaf Farms operation and will also serve as plant manager for Serenade Foods, a new operation dedicated to the further processing of poultry. Richard Jones has been elected to the board of directors of Maple Leaf Farms and also the appointment to the position of general managers of Serenade Foods.

January 13 1951

    William J. Braddock, exalted ruler of the Warsaw Elks, announced that William H. Beroth, only charter member of the lodge, and Ben Phillipson, a long time member, will be guests of honor at the "Old Timers" celebration at the Elks Temple. Tributes will also be paid to other members of long standing. The local lodge was organized in 1902.
