    Dr. David Haines and Esther Stafford were named Warsaw's Man and Woman of the Year at the 75th annual Greater Warsaw Chamber of Commerce banquet. They are the 28th recipients of the award, which began in 1959.

Jan. 31 1972

    Snowmobiles, Mentone marshal, Kosciusko County sheriff's department and civil defense personnel assisted in the wide search effort for Tippecanoe Valley Schools superintendent Robert Forbes and his 2-year-old grandson after Forbes became stranded in his car for about eight hours following a snowstorm. Forbes and his grandson were fine after walking to a nearby farm house.

Jan. 31 1947

    Indiana Legislature decided today that women have as much sense as men and three times the persuasive power. As a result, the 46 men and two ladies of the Senate sent a bill to the governor that would require the appointment of at least one woman to city school boards, health and library boards.

    With the help of a foul shot made in the last 15 seconds of the final game played by Emory Druckamiller, star forward, the Syracuse cagers defeated a tired Warsaw team by a score of 20 to 19 after the Tigers had played two games against Claypool and Atwood during the day.
